About
Raleigh Holiday Half Marathon is held in Raleigh, North Carolina, on December 5, 2026, with a single distance, the half marathon (13.1 miles), starting at 8 a.m. It is put on by Sir Walter Running as a fundraiser for the Sir Walter Miler, and the field is deliberately small. The out-and-back route begins on Crabtree Boulevard, follows the Crabtree Creek Greenway, turns at Anderson Point Park and finishes near Raleigh Boulevard, all on the Capital Area Greenway system. Parking is available at Gateway Plaza and at the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina.
A greenway out-and-back with a small field is close to ideal if you are chasing a time: no crowding, no route-finding, and a halfway point you can pace against. Come in off ten to twelve weeks with a weekly long run and a few sessions at goal half pace. If it is your first 13.1, the same layout works in your favor, since you simply run out and come back.
