Run for Hope! Walk in Unity

Run for Hope! Walk in Unity takes place in McKinney, Texas, on November 14, 2026. The timed 5K run (3.1 miles) starts at 9:00 a.m., and the untimed Walk in Unity, a 1-mile walk, follows at 10:15 a.m. The event brings together several faith communities, local leaders and nonprofit partners to support food, health, education and rent assistance for vulnerable residents through the Collin County NeighborHub in McKinney.

The two-part schedule makes this a genuine mixed-ability event: run the 5K at 9:00, then join the walk with family or your community group later in the morning. Concerts, food trucks and games fill in the time between. For the 5K, you can race it or jog it; either way, keep the first mile relaxed and finish strong over the last half mile. Six weeks of three sessions a week is enough for a first 5K, and the walk needs no preparation beyond comfortable shoes. Participants of every fitness level are encouraged to take part, so bring whoever you like.
