Save the Manatee 5K

Save the Manatee 5K takes place in Orange City, Florida, on November 15, 2026, at Blue Spring State Park, with a 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles) starting at 8:00 AM. Set in natural manatee habitat, the scenic course is open to all ages and abilities, families and pets included, and a virtual option lets you take part with the activity and location of your choice. Registration includes a T-shirt, a finisher medal, and a bib, with parking covered too. Awards go to the top male and female finishers, and proceeds benefit the Save the Manatee Club.

Whether you run it or walk it, this is a 5K to enjoy for the setting as much as the effort. If you're aiming for a time, warm up for ten minutes and run an even pace, but don't be surprised if the scenery slows you down at some point. First-timers can prepare with three to four weeks of easy running, and the run/walk format means finishing is the only goal that matters. Bringing a dog? Keep the leash short at the start, where the field is at its most crowded.
