Soldier Rush

Soldier Rush is a 5K obstacle course race held at Rawls Road, in Hillsborough County, Florida, on November 7, 2026. The route combines running with physical obstacles that test strength as much as endurance, set in a natural park area near Tampa. It is aimed at runners familiar with OCR formats who want a short event that mixes running with varied physical demands rather than a straight road race over the same distance.

Because obstacles break the running into segments, your finishing time depends far less on pure 5K speed than on upper-body strength, grip and the ability to restart hard after each stop. Six to eight weeks of preparation works well: keep running two or three times a week, add pull-ups, carries and hill efforts, and practice running immediately after strength work so the transitions do not surprise you. Rawls Road is a short drive from Tampa.
