Turkey Chase

Turkey Chase is run by Fit & Able Productions in Cary, North Carolina, on November 28, 2026, inside William B. Umstead State Park in Wake County. The 13.1-mile half marathon, the 10K and the 5K all set off at 8:30 a.m., and you can run, walk, roll or stroll them, which is why the event suits a wide range of fitness levels. Every finisher gets a medal and either a knit hat or a fleece neck gaiter, awards go to the top finishers, and results count toward the Fit & Able Free-for-All race series. The organizer is aiming for 500 participants across in-person and virtual entries.

These are trail distances, so expect to run slower than your road times and to spend more attention on footing than on splits. A first half off pavement is very manageable if you already cover 13.1 on roads; add a weekly long run on similar surfaces for eight to ten weeks beforehand.
