Vets Day 5K & 10K

Vets Day 5K & 10K is held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on November 7, 2026, at the War Memorial, as part of the Wisconsin Chilly Willy Winter Run series. The 10K measures about 6.3 miles and the 5K about 3.4 miles; both start at 9:00 a.m. alongside a 5K walk, and a 1K Kiddo's Race goes off at 8:45 a.m. Runners cover Veterans Park, with the start and finish on Mason Street in front of the War Memorial. An awards ceremony and a gourmet hot chocolate bar follow. The event supports Operation Finally Home with the Silver Circle Foundation, raising money to build mortgage-free homes for veterans and their families.

Park running in November calls for layers you can shed after the first mile. Both distances are short enough to race hard, and the 10K makes a good stepping stone if you have only ever run 5Ks. Six to eight weeks of steady mileage with one weekly tempo run will get you ready.
