Hair Peace 5 K Run/Walk

Hair Peace 5 K Run/Walk is held on October 24, 2026 at Miramar Regional Park in Miramar, Florida, with a 5K run and a 5K walk on a certified course inside the park. The morning opens with a Zumba warm-up and closes with awards, raffles and refreshments, plus remarks from community leaders. The race raises money and awareness for mixed connective tissue disease and other autoimmune conditions that cause hair loss, and proceeds fund hair prostheses and related services, including for people with cancer.

With a run and a walk on the same certified 5K, this works whether you are timing yourself or covering the distance at conversation pace. A certified course also means a result you can honestly compare with other races. Three or four weeks of steady running is enough preparation for most people; for the walk, one longer walk each week is really all it takes.
